Assessment endpoint

An explicit expression of the environmental value to be protected, often stated as a measurable characteristic of an ecological entity. It links the environmental protection goals to the specific measurements or observations made in an ecological risk assessment. For example, an assessment endpoint might be the reproductive success of a specific fish species.
