Assemblage

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000838

A collection of organisms of phylogenetically related species that are found together in a specific habitat or geographical area. This grouping is defined by taxonomic similarities, such as all bird species or all beetle species within a given ecosystem. An assemblage differs from a community, which includes all interacting populations of different species in an area, regardless of their phylogenetic relationship.
