Ecoregion

A relatively large area of land or water that contains a geographically distinct assemblage of natural communities sharing a majority of their species, ecological dynamics, and environmental conditions. These regions are delineated based on factors such as climate, geology, and vegetation. They serve as a framework for conservation planning and biodiversity assessment.
