Ecotoxicity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003558
The potential for a substance to cause adverse effects on living organisms and ecosystems. This includes direct toxicity to individual organisms, as well as broader impacts on populations, communities, and ecosystem functions. Ecotoxicity is assessed through standardized tests on representative species, often involving aquatic organisms like fish or daphnia.
