Fertilisation effect
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004389
An increase in the growth rate or productivity of organisms, populations, or ecosystems due to an enhanced supply of nutrients, often from anthropogenic sources. This effect is frequently observed in aquatic environments receiving excess nitrogen or phosphorus, leading to eutrophication. It can alter species composition and overall ecosystem health.
