Daphnia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002856
A genus of small planktonic crustaceans, commonly known as water fleas, found in freshwater environments. These organisms are frequently used in ecotoxicological studies as model species to assess the effects of pollutants on aquatic ecosystems. Their sensitivity to environmental changes makes them suitable for toxicity testing.
