Littoral enclosures

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006709

Experimental systems designed to isolate and study portions of the littoral zone, which is the part of a body of water close to the shore. These enclosures allow for controlled manipulation of environmental factors and observation of their effects on aquatic organisms and ecosystems. They are typically used in ecotoxicology to assess the impact of pollutants on nearshore aquatic environments.
