Limnocorrals

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006602

Enclosures deployed in lakes or other freshwater bodies to isolate a portion of the aquatic environment for experimental study. These structures allow researchers to manipulate specific environmental factors or introduce substances to observe their effects on the enclosed ecosystem, while minimizing influence from the surrounding water body. They are often constructed from flexible, impermeable materials and anchored to the lakebed.
