Experimental ecosystem
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004227
A controlled and simplified ecological system created in a laboratory or field setting to study ecological processes under defined conditions. These systems, such as microcosms or mesocosms, allow researchers to manipulate variables and observe their effects on biological communities and ecosystem functions. They are used to investigate nutrient cycling, pollutant effects, or species interactions.
