Guild
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005057
A group of species within a community that exploits the same class of environmental resources in a similar way, irrespective of their taxonomic positions. This functional grouping is based on shared resource use, such as feeding habits or nesting sites. For example, nectar-feeding birds and insects in the same habitat form a guild, as they all consume nectar from flowers.
