Guillain-Barré syndrome

An acute, rapidly progressing inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nervous system, characterized by muscle weakness and sometimes paralysis. It is an autoimmune condition where the body's immune system attacks its own nerve cells, particularly the myelin sheath. This syndrome often follows a viral or bacterial infection.
