Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006427
A rare autoimmune condition characterized by impaired communication between nerves and muscles, leading to muscle weakness and fatigue. This disorder arises from autoantibodies targeting voltage-gated calcium channels on presynaptic nerve terminals, which reduces the release of acetylcholine. It is frequently associated with small cell lung cancer, making it a paraneoplastic syndrome.
