Lambert law
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006426
A fundamental law in photochemistry stating that the absorbance of a homogeneous medium is directly proportional to the path length of light through the medium. This means that each successive layer of the absorbing material absorbs an equal fraction of the light incident upon it. It forms one part of the Beer-Lambert law, which also considers concentration.
