Exploitation competition

An indirect form of competition between organisms or species where individuals consume a shared, limited resource, thereby reducing its availability for others. This occurs without direct aggressive interactions or physical contact between the competitors. For example, two species of herbivores might compete for the same plant resource in a given area.
