Biocenosis

A community of interacting living organisms, including plants, animals, and microorganisms, that inhabit a particular environment or habitat. This ecological unit is characterized by the interdependencies and relationships among its constituent species. The concept is often used in conjunction with 'biotope' to describe a complete ecosystem.
