Community stability
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002288
The ability of a biological community to maintain its structure, species composition, and ecological functions over time, despite environmental fluctuations or disturbances. This concept encompasses both resistance (the ability to resist change) and resilience (the ability to recover from change). Stable communities exhibit relatively constant population sizes and species interactions over extended periods.
