Resilience
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010229
The capacity of an ecosystem, community, or organism to absorb disturbance and reorganize while undergoing change, so as to retain essentially the same function, structure, identity, and feedbacks. This property allows systems to recover from perturbations and maintain their overall integrity. It is a key concept in ecological risk assessment.
