Climax community

A stable and mature ecological community that represents the final stage of ecological succession in a particular environment. This community is characterized by a relatively stable species composition and biomass, having reached equilibrium with the prevailing environmental conditions. It is typically self-perpetuating and resistant to further major changes unless disturbed.
