Complementarity-determining region
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002316
A hypervariable segment within the variable regions of antibody and T-cell receptor proteins that directly binds to antigens. These regions are responsible for the specificity and diversity of antigen recognition by the immune system. Each antibody or T-cell receptor typically contains three such regions in both its heavy and light chains.
