Screen
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005087
A mesh fabric, typically made of silk, polyester, or stainless steel, stretched tautly over a frame, used in screen printing to transfer ink onto a substrate. Areas of the screen are blocked off to create a stencil, allowing ink to pass only through the open mesh. The mesh count, measured in threads per inch, determines the fineness of the print.
