Screeding

The process of leveling and smoothing a freshly poured concrete or mortar surface to a specified height and finish. This is achieved by drawing a straightedge or screed board across the wet material, removing excess and filling low spots. The goal is to create a flat, even base for subsequent flooring materials or as a finished surface itself.
