Strickle

A tool used in foundry work to shape sand molds or cores to a specific contour or profile. It consists of a straight edge or a shaped template that is drawn across the sand to remove excess material and create the desired form. Strickles are often made of wood or metal and are guided by a pattern or a fixed rail.
