Sweep

A method of creating large, symmetrical molds in sand casting without using a full pattern. A sweep board, pivoted from a central point, is rotated to form the desired cavity shape in the sand. This technique is particularly effective for producing circular or cylindrical castings like flywheels or pipe sections.
