A shaped tuck sewn into a piece of fabric to provide contour and fit, particularly in garment manufacturing. Darts are used to remove excess fabric and create a three-dimensional shape that conforms to the body or a specific design. They are measured by their length and width, which determine the amount of fabric taken in.
