Screener
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005091
A machine equipped with perforated surfaces or wire mesh used to classify crushed rock, ore, coal, or aggregate by particle size. Material is fed onto an inclined, vibrating, or rotating screen deck, where smaller particles pass through the openings while larger ones are retained and transported off the end. Screeners can be single-deck for a simple separation or multi-deck, with progressively smaller apertures on lower decks, to produce several distinct size fractions simultaneously.
