Scratcher

A device attached to the outside of casing strings to remove filter cake from the wellbore walls during cementing operations. Scratchers are typically made of wire bristles or spring steel and are designed to agitate the mud cake, promoting a better bond between the cement and the formation. They are installed at specific intervals along the casing.
