Telluric current

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003783

Naturally occurring electrical currents that flow within the Earth's subsurface, induced by variations in the Earth's magnetic field. These currents are driven by external sources such as solar winds interacting with the ionosphere. Telluric currents are measured in magnetotelluric surveys to determine the electrical resistivity structure of the Earth.
