Telluric-current method
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004468
A passive electromagnetic geophysical technique that measures naturally occurring electric currents flowing within the Earth, known as telluric currents. These currents are induced by variations in the Earth's magnetic field, primarily from solar wind interactions. Variations in the measured electric field at different locations provide information about subsurface resistivity structures.
