Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002441
Magnetotellurics, a passive electromagnetic geophysical method that measures naturally occurring variations in the Earth's electric and magnetic fields. These measurements are used to determine the electrical resistivity structure of the subsurface. MT surveys are effective for deep crustal and upper mantle studies, as well as for hydrocarbon exploration in areas with complex geology.
