A device used to sense and record physical phenomena, such as seismic waves, electromagnetic fields, or radiation, in geophysical surveys. Examples include geophones for seismic energy, magnetometers for magnetic fields, and scintillometers for radioactivity. These devices convert the physical input into an electrical signal for recording and analysis.
