Maxwell's equations

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002304

A set of four partial differential equations that describe the behavior of electric and magnetic fields and their interaction with matter. These equations unify electricity, magnetism, and optics, showing that light is an electromagnetic wave. They form the foundation of classical electromagnetism and are applied in geophysical methods such as magnetotellurics and electromagnetic surveying.
