Transverse electric mode
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003902
A type of electromagnetic wave propagation where the electric field vector is perpendicular to the direction of wave propagation and parallel to the plane of stratification. In this mode, the magnetic field has a component in the direction of propagation. This concept is applied in electromagnetic geophysical methods for subsurface imaging.
