Transverse magnetic mode

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003904

A type of electromagnetic wave propagation where the magnetic field vector is perpendicular to the direction of wave propagation and parallel to the plane of stratification. In this mode, the electric field has a component in the direction of propagation. This mode is considered in the analysis of electromagnetic data for subsurface characterization.
