Transverse relaxation
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003905
The process by which the transverse magnetization of nuclear spins decays after being perturbed by a radiofrequency pulse in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) logging. This decay, characterized by the T2 relaxation time, is sensitive to pore size and fluid type. T2 measurements are used to estimate pore size distribution and fluid volumes.
