Nuclear magnetic resonance measurement
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002575
A well logging technique that measures the magnetic properties of hydrogen nuclei (protons) in formation fluids to determine porosity, permeability, and fluid types. The tool applies a magnetic field and radiofrequency pulses, then records the decay of the induced magnetization. This measurement is independent of lithology and provides direct information on pore size distribution.
