Nuclear magnetic resonance
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002574
A logging technique that measures the magnetic properties of hydrogen nuclei in reservoir fluids to determine porosity, permeability, and fluid types. It provides information about the amount of movable fluid and bound water in the rock pores. NMR logs are particularly effective in distinguishing between oil, gas, and water within the pore space.
