Flow simulation
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001484
The numerical process of solving the partial differential equations that govern multiphase fluid flow in a reservoir to predict its dynamic behavior over time. It involves discretizing the reservoir into a grid and applying finite difference or finite element methods. Flow simulations are used to forecast production rates, evaluate recovery methods, and manage reservoir assets.
