Recovery forecast

A prediction of the future production rates and cumulative volume of hydrocarbons that can be extracted from a reservoir over its economic life. This forecast is generated using reservoir simulation models, decline curve analysis, or material balance calculations. It is a key input for economic evaluations and investment decisions in oil and gas projects.
