Flow regime
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001483
The characteristic pattern of fluid movement within a reservoir and wellbore during production or injection, describing the geometry of flow such as radial, linear, or spherical. Different flow regimes dominate at different times during a well test, each providing specific information about the reservoir or well condition. The identification of flow regimes, such as infinite-acting radial flow, is accomplished by analyzing the derivative of pressure with respect to the logarithm of time on a log-log plot.
