Eddy current measurement

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001245

A non-contact method used in casing inspection logs to detect and quantify metal loss or defects in tubulars. It works by inducing eddy currents in the casing wall and measuring the changes in the electromagnetic field caused by variations in metal thickness or conductivity. This technique is sensitive to both internal and external corrosion.
