Electromagnetic caliper
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001280
A downhole tool that measures the internal diameter of casing or tubing using electromagnetic principles. It detects changes in the electromagnetic field caused by variations in the metal wall, providing a continuous profile of the pipe's inner surface. This caliper is effective in identifying corrosion, scale buildup, or deformation without direct mechanical contact.
