Ultrasonic caliper
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003970
A downhole logging tool that uses ultrasonic pulses to measure the internal diameter of the casing or open hole. It emits sound waves and records the time it takes for the echoes to return, providing a high-resolution profile of the wellbore geometry. This tool can detect casing deformation, corrosion, scale buildup, and washouts in the formation.
