Ultrasonic inspection
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003971
A non-destructive testing method that uses high-frequency sound waves to detect internal flaws, measure wall thickness, and characterize material properties in pipes, vessels, and other equipment. A transducer emits ultrasonic pulses into the material, and the reflected echoes are analyzed to identify discontinuities. This technique is widely used for integrity management and corrosion monitoring in oil and gas facilities.
