Acoustic transducer
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000046
A device that converts electrical energy into acoustic energy, and vice versa, used in acoustic logging tools. It typically consists of a piezoelectric crystal that generates and receives sound waves. The transducer emits acoustic pulses into the formation and detects the reflected or transmitted waves, which are then analyzed to determine rock properties.
