Monopole

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002421

A type of acoustic logging transducer that emits and receives compressional waves, which travel through the formation. Monopole tools are commonly used to measure compressional wave travel time, providing information about rock mechanical properties and porosity. This is the most basic configuration for sonic logging.
