Array sonic
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000185
A well logging tool equipped with multiple acoustic transmitters and receivers to measure the travel time of sound waves through the formation. This configuration allows for the acquisition of full waveform data, enabling the determination of compressional, shear, and Stoneley wave velocities. These velocities are used to calculate rock mechanical properties, porosity, and to identify fractures.
