Radiographic inspection

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003038

A nondestructive examination method that uses X-rays or gamma rays to penetrate a material and produce an image on a film or digital detector, revealing internal flaws or discontinuities. The varying absorption of radiation by different material densities allows for the detection of cracks, voids, inclusions, and corrosion. This technique is widely used to inspect welds, castings, and pipelines for integrity in the oil and gas industry.
