Fluoroscopy
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-004329
An X-ray imaging technique in which a core is passed across an X-ray source and detector to record a continuous image of its interior along its length. The image shows bedding, fractures, nodules and density variations, and it is used to inspect the core and choose where to cut plugs for further analysis. Because X-rays respond to attenuation, the picture reflects density and atomic number, and the images also yield a high-resolution density profile of the core.
