Caliper log
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000528
A well log that records the diameter of a borehole along its depth, providing information about the hole's geometry. This tool uses mechanical arms that extend and retract to measure the distance across the wellbore. Data from a caliper log is used to assess hole stability, determine cement volumes, and identify washouts or constrictions.
