Screenout
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003283
An undesirable event during hydraulic fracturing or gravel packing operations where proppant or gravel prematurely bridges and plugs the perforations or the annulus. This blockage prevents further injection of treatment fluid into the formation, leading to an incomplete treatment. It often results from improper fluid rheology, excessive proppant concentration, or insufficient pump rate.
